The imat workshop about emissions and odor of the vehicle interior was successfully launched in the US on April 27, 2017. Experts in the field of vehicle indoor air quality gathered in Atlanta to discuss worldwide trends and strategies.

imat’s own expert Dr. Michael Holzwarth spoke about test methods and the global harmonization of ISO standards. Dr. Hans Peter Schlegelmilch presented a summary of global OEM requirements und gave a side note about an approach to objectively measure odor by EEG means. Michael McGinley from St. Croix Sensory explained how to develop and maintain a sensory panel. After that, the presentation by Kurt Thaxton, Gerstel US, dealt with the role of sample temperature variation in emission methods and standards. The participants quickly came into a fruitful discussion on the topics. The harmonization of international standards was of particular interest.

The next workshop in 2018 will soon be scheduled.
