imat-uve at techtextil 2017 in Frankfurt
The world's leading trade fair for technical textiles, Techtextil, takes place in Frankfurt from 9 to 12 May 2017. imat-uve will once again be exhibiting its services in design, development and testing of materials and textiles. At booth G80 in hall 3.0, visitors will find current research and development work in the field of technical textiles and textile quality tests.
At the booth of imat-uve visitors will find themselves in the middle of the creative lab. The company presents a selection of innovative materials from its own material library which are further developed for specific requirements, for example in the car. At our booth, you will find various innovation projects that focus on sustainability and lighting.
Recycled textiles from mixed fibers, vertically placed nonwovens as well as casein fiber mixtures are examples of the R & D projects exhibited which include approaches for sustainable and ecological material development. In cooperation with Trevira, we show phosphorescent yarn, which - after exposure to a light source – has the capability of glowing for several hours and thus provides indirect lighting for textile surfaces.
For visitors interested in textile testing methods, imat-uve shows improvements for Mace Snag and Martindale testers. The mace balls for thread pull tests on the Mace Snag unit have been standardized in extensive research work and this was included in the VDA standard 220-230. The sample holder for the Martindale tester has been optimized for standardized sample collection. This will shortly affect the DIN EN ISO 12947 standard. In this context, imat-uve developed the High Precision Hook Pad for Velcro tests with the Martindale. The pad standardizes the Velcro test by means of a customized hook position on a plastic plate which is to be used in the future instead of Velcro tape for tests according to VDA 230-210.
All optimized spare parts for Mace Snag and Martindale are available from imat-uve.
