Development of the Mace Snag Tester according to VDA 230-220

New VDA norm for the Mace Snag Tester „VDA 230-220"
imat-uve has elaborated a customised textile standard for the Mace Snag Tester with the VDA Working Group for fabrics. The snagging method used for checking the thread pullers inclination of textiles. Thread pullers are besides chafing undesirable signs of wearing on automotive seat covers, they are particularly affected when entering and exiting. The Mace Snag method is already used by many OEM, however, to date there was no standardised test method. Therefore an optimised method of analysis has been prepared and the standard parameters of the test instrument were adjusted for automotive upholstery. This means that all manufacturers and suppliers in the future can adjust real damage patterns on Mace Snag Tester with an unified specification.
