imat out and about in Silicon Wadi
From 2 to 7 September, imat’s Managing Director Dr. Hans Peter Schlegelmilch participated in a trip of NRW.International GmbH in cooperation with the AHK / German-Israeli Chamber of Industry & Commerce. In this week eleven companies from North Rhine-Westphalia discovered the start-up scene in Tel Aviv, especially in the "Silicon Wadi", the Silicon Valley of Israel. During the trip, the entrepreneurs visited among others the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Israel, the venture capital company Magma Venture Partners and Mobileye, the market leader in collision avoidance systems for vehicles. To get to know the country better, the participants undertook sightseeing tours, for example to Jerusalem.
Another highlight on the tour was the 2nd German-Israeli Pitch Night organized by the AHK Israel & the BEATEC Berlin Tel Aviv Technology & Entrepreneurship Committee. The eleven participants were able to present their business ideas in the form of an elevator pitch in front of 150 investors and entrepreneurs. Dr. Hans Peter Schlegelmilch introduced an imat-project for accumulating and processing user experience (UX) data on materials through neuroscientific approaches of artificial intelligence (AI). From Mönchengladbach, in addition to imat, also nextMG e.V. and the start-up OKIKO took part in this journey.
