No room for bad air!
Today imat-uve is holding the practical seminar "Emissions and Odors in the Vehicle Interior", the first time as part of the Expert Circle of the trade magazine "Automobil Industrie". Christian Otto, deputy editor-in-chief, moderates the day and leads the final discussion.
The Morning Session is opened by imat Senior Expert VIAQ, VOC, Odor Matthias Büsselmann with an overview of test methods and influencing variables for emission tests. Michael Holzwarth, Head of Competence Center VIAQ, VOC, Odor, talks about psychophysical principles of human perception of odor. In his second presentation he gives insights into measurement uncertainties of emission tests.
Parag Shah from Dr. Schneider Group will present an innovative system that could make the air in the vehicle interior less polluting and could minimize negative health effects on humans.
Hans Peter Schlegelmilch then summarises some innovations in emission and odor testing. imat-uve optimises the preparation of samples for TDSA tubes and the photo documentation of fogging results. He also discusses the imat high precision standard material with which odor panels can be trained. Thomas Barkey explains the advantages of the oil-free fogging device Barkey Permatherm and gives a practical demonstration of it. In the accompanying exhibition the participants have the possibility to inform themselves about the different devices and improvements in detail.
In the afternoon, Andreas Dörner from KRAIBURG TPE will talk about the developments in the emission and odor behavior of TPS materials. He will focus on the results of various testing institutes and emission data from several production sites.
Finally, Dr. Roland Freudenmann from Continental AG will report on intelligent solutions for future odor and emission requirements and will also discuss legislation in China.
