Emissions and odor in the vehicle interior

The one-day workshop "Emissions and odor in the vehicle interior" takes place at imat-uve in Mönchengladbach on the grounds of the historic Monforts textile machinery factory. The VIAQ experts from imat-uve report on current developments in the automotive and supplier industry.This involves both national and international test standards and their further development. In the practical excursion test methods and the user experience lab of imat-uve are presented. 

Topics of the day: 

imat-uve's emission expert Dr. Michael Holzwarth begins with an extensive introduction to current emission and odor test methods. Afterwards, management board member Dr. Hans Peter Schlegelmilch gives an insight into the development of a neuroscientific-technical approach to the collection of user experience data. The intention is to capture elements of the user experience and to use them for the development and evaluation of components for the automotive interior. Then Dr. Schlegelmilch presents a study conducted by imat-uve of fragrance preferences.Following Dr. Dieter Holtkamp (Holtkamp Air Quality Improvement) gives an overview of the local and global standards for emissions and odor tests. Further Hans-Willi Müller, also a management board member of imat-uve, amplifies the topic "Odor tests" and explains how to set up a smell panel. Dr. Hans Peter Schlegelmilch introduces the High Precision Standard Material, which imat-uve provides for various test standards and can be used by customers to compare their own test results. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to have a look at the material library as well as the user experience lab.
