Hightech yarns from old clothes - imat-uve

Written by imat-uve | Aug 17, 2021

High-quality recycled yarns and materials will be presented from now until mid-October at the TextilTechnikum in Mönchengladbach. As part of a German-Dutch INTERREG-funded project, imat-uve has been researching a process for upcycling mixed fiber waste from old clothing and, together with project partners, has developed high-quality yarns and textiles for challenging requirements, such as for the automotive industry. Together with C2C ExpoLab, FBBasic, Stichting Texperium and Trützschler Spinning, the joint project was successfully implemented.

In cooperation with the Dutch DesignLab envisions, an exhibition under the name “Fibers unsorted” was created showing possible applications and processing for the recycled yarn in vehicles. We look forward to many visitors!
