Before automotive components go into series production, they are tested for all prescribed quality characteristics as part of initial sampling. These include mechanical tests, such as the impact test according to DIN EN ISO 179 (Charpy), or surface tests, such as abrasion and adhesion. OEM-specific regulations are often also the basis.
