EMISSIONS AND ODOR

You won't find another engineering service provider who, on the one hand, is proficient in all of the relevant test specifications for material and component emissions of most of the automobile manufacturers and at the same time can determine and assess the emission status of the overall vehicle and/or its interior. This relates to the volatile organic compounds (VOC) just as much as to the non-volatile hydrocarbons (FOG / Fogging).

imat-uve offers the technical facilities and know-how for an overall vehicle assessment in accordance with the requirements of the new ISO 12219-1 as well as the specifications of JAMA for the Japanese market. The technical expertise of imat-uve includes test benches with IR emitters and those with wavelength shares in the UV range that come very close the real situation of the vehicle's use. Accessible sun simulation chambers can also be provided at the customer's request.

In addition to the sum of values in VOC and FOG, the competence of our engineers includes the individual substance investigation in connection with VOC and FOG and their classification according to the internationally applicable legal hazardous substances regulations. 1,3-butadiene, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds as well as the relevant individual phthalates and other plasticizers round off the spectrum.

Apart from know-how in overall vehicle measurements, you will also find competent support in identifying striking substances and odors in the overall vehicle from the materials used on a component and material level at imat-uve. You hereby benefit from the fact that imat-uve has steadily built up and extended a collection of material data over the past 10 years that can be used for not only considerations of laws relating to hazardous substances but also to link striking substances to possible material and component sources. So you see: we won't leave you alone with your noticeable problems. If you want, you can fall back on our competent engineers and involve them temporarily in your own in-house task-forces and project teams.

We help you optimize your manufacturing processes and develop emission-improved materials, components and vehicles.

Improvement of the emission and odor characteristics of interior components and materials

If structural components and materials do not comply with the requirements of motor vehicle manufacturers, suppliers are often alone on the first and second level. It is our objective to be a competent contact point in such cases. Our engineers assist you in your process analysis. In the context of primary and secondary inquiry we work on the basis of surveys, observations, document analyses, enterprise comparisons and inventory methods according to Hömberg (2006).

Observation occurs in part manually, in part automatically and EDP-supported as suggested by Jodin and Meyer. From this information we develop the fault tree analysis and CAE supports the simulation model. Simultaneously, we also develop risk management regarding the issue of your emission optimization, if required.

The expertise of imat-uve is based on the following components: Qualified tests (emission tests materials / emission tests building components), supplier support, process engineering and designs as well as the provision of qualified engineers for your team.

Emission testing / components The test competency in the sector emission and odor tests on a material level is also applied in the examination of structural components. imat-uve operates several emission test chambers by Vötsch/Weiss with a test space volume of 0.2 to 2 m³. This allows the optimal (non-destructive) examination of most conventional component sizes and pre-products according to methods of VDA, ISO and CARB; this differentiates us from most laboratories. The test results produced by imat-uve are accepted by most motor vehicle manufacturers or are even recommended and/or approved by the motor vehicle manufacturers. This includes highly volatile hydrocarbons (VOC) as well as semi-volatile hydrocarbons (FOG / fogging). imat-uve also plays a major role in motor vehicle odor test methods in connection with component emission tests in chambers, as well as the bag methods popular in the Asia-Pacific region. As well as the accumulative values at VOC, the competencies of our engineers comprise the individual substance examination of VOC screenings, the amines and nitro-amines, the aldehydes and other carbonyl compound and the phthalic acid esters (phthalates) required by some OEMs.

Wherever required, we also classify detected individual substances in the VOC screening according to internationally relevant statutory hazardous goods regulations. As well as competencies in emission checks from non-metallic materials on a component and pre-product level, you will also find expert support for emission checks and odor checks from material samples and the entire vehicle. We will not desert you in the event of peculiarities. Wherever required, you can refer to our competent engineers and temporarily incorporate them in-house in your task forces and project teams. Here, we will assist you in the optimization and design of your manufacturing processes and the development of emission-improved material.
Emission tests with the overall vehicle You won't find another engineering service provider who, on the one hand, is proficient in all of the relevant test specifications for material and component emissions of all of the globally active automobile manufacturers and at the same time can determine and assess the emission status of the overall vehicle and/or its interior. This relates to the volatile organic compounds (VOC) just as much as to the non-volatile hydrocarbons (FOG / Fogging).

imat-uve offers you the technical facilities and know-how for an overall vehicle assessment in accordance with the requirements of the new ISO 12219-1 as well as the[nbsp]legal regulations in China (GB/T 27630 und HJ/T400) and specifications for the Japanese and Korean markets.

The technical expertise of imat-uve includes test benches with IR emitters and those with wavelength shares in the UV range that come very close the real situation of the vehicle's use.

Because our engineers have been interested in the ageing of vehicles in real conditions (outdoor weathering) as well as in artificial conditions (environmental simulation / solar simulation) for many years, imat-uve can also offer a competent preparation of vehicles for measurements. This includes logistical support for automobile manufacturers as well as equipping the vehicle's interior with the necessary sensor systems and the corresponding measurement and control technology. This can either be according to the customer's wishes or on the basis of suggestions from the imat-uve engineers. Our engineers keep their eye on several criteria such as the type of vehicle, statutory regulations for the relevant market or the reference to a real environment under the given parameters.

We help you optimize and design your manufacturing processes and in the development of emission-improved materials, components and vehicles.
